Being broken into is not primarily a lock problem. It is a situation where the priority is getting the property secure again before nightfall, and doing it without making the day any worse than it already is.

We attend burglary repairs 24 hours a day and will make the property safe on the first visit. If the door can be repaired we repair it there and then. If it cannot, we board up securely and return to fit a permanent replacement once you have had the chance to speak to your insurer.

Most forced entries in this part of London come through one of a small number of routes: a snapped euro cylinder on a UPVC door, a mortice lock forced out of an old and softened frame, or a rear door or patio door that was never as secure as the front. Part of what we do on the day is tell you which it was, because that determines what actually needs to change.

We will always fit better than what was there. If a standard cylinder was snapped, the replacement is anti-snap. If a frame gave way, we reinforce it rather than simply refitting the same keep into the same damaged timber. Repeat burglaries at the same address are far more common than most people expect, and the fix is usually straightforward once the weak point is known.

We can provide a clear written description of the damage and the work carried out, which is normally what insurers ask for.
