A key safe is the standard answer when carers, family members, cleaners or tradespeople need reliable access without a key being handed around. They are most commonly fitted where an elderly or less mobile person is being visited regularly, and where the alternative is a key left somewhere far less safe.
The important detail is that key safes vary enormously in quality. A cheap unit fixed to soft brickwork with the screws supplied in the box can be removed in under a minute, and some insurers will decline a claim if an unrated key safe was used.
Where the safe goes matters as much as what it is. A unit fitted beside the front door in clear view tells anyone passing exactly where the key is. Sited around a corner, out of the sightline from the pavement and fixed into solid brick, the same unit is a genuinely secure solution.
We fit police-approved units as standard. These are tested against actual attack rather than simply being sold as secure, and they are what insurers will normally want to see if a claim is ever made. The cost difference against an unrated unit is modest and it is the whole point of fitting one.
