Cut at your door rather than yours — including keys the high street cannot copy.
Most key cutting is straightforward and the high street handles it perfectly well. Where we are genuinely useful is the cases it does not: keys that will not copy accurately, security and restricted keys that shops are not authorised to cut, and situations where no original key survives at all.
We cut keys on site as part of a visit, which is usually more convenient than a separate trip into town — particularly for landlords and managing agents who need several sets at once.
The most common problem with a cheaply cut key is not that it fails outright but that it works badly. A copy cut from a copy accumulates small errors, and after two or three generations you get a key that needs jiggling, then one that sticks, and eventually one that snaps in the lock. Because we cut on site we can test each key in the actual lock before leaving, which removes that entirely.
If you have lost every key to a door, a replacement can often be cut to the lock rather than from an existing key, which avoids having to replace the lock at all. Where that is not possible, rekeying the existing cylinder is usually cheaper than a full replacement.
For landlords and agents we can supply keyed-alike sets so that one key covers several doors on a property, or a controlled set where copies cannot be made without your authority. On a property with any history of tenant turnover that is worth considerably more than another handful of loose copies.
